The Cedar House - Otter Rock

“The pictures online make the house look nicer than the reality. It’s a funky but lovable beach house. The location is private and wonderful. Each day we liked the house a little more. Once we got the place aired out, the WiFi working, and filled the empty propane tank we were set.”

“WONDERFUL PRIVACY The setting of the Cedar House is quite remarkable. It sits at the end of a private road/drive in a stand of large trees, and overlooks the beach. There is nothing fancy about the house (some might call it dated or old fashioned), but it provides a comfortable and very relaxing experience. The wood stove was easy to use and was very effective at warming the house on a damp chilly day ( the regular heating units also worked well if you don’t want to bother with starting a fire). There is a steep bit at the end of the path to the beach, but the ropes worked just fine (you might want to bring some gloves for this) and the effort is well worth it. The short (about four feet) climb down would be a challenge for someone with mobility issues, The beach, which you can see and hear from the house, was really enjoyable and not busy at all (during the week, we were often the only people there). We enjoyed our stay immensely and would definitely return for another visit.”

“CLASSIC OREGON COAST HOUSE This rustic cabin is such a classic coast experience - nothing fancy or updated,but you'll find everything you need. The beds are even pretty comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked, but just know there is no dishwasher. The view is superb and it's just a short walk down to the beach. This is on a steep hill, so not appropriate for the elderly or anyone with mobility issues. We enjoyed the wood stove-just know that you'll need to bring your own wood (not enough provided). The back upstairs bedroom is a bit musty, but otherwise everything was comfortable. I agree with others that there's only one sofa in the living room so difficult for everyone to gather together without sitting in hard chairs. Check-in was super easy and the staff super helpful! We would stay here again.”

“QUIRKY HOUSE WITH A BEAUTIFUL VIEW House is wonderfully located, with a very short walk down to the beach. The house itself is a little strange in its layout but cosy and comfortable. We enjoyed the fireplace and the view. Beds were comfortable and being able to hear the Pacific from the bedroom was an added plus.”
